In short, our faith can be summarized by the Apostles’ Creed:
We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into Hades; on the third day he arose form the dead; he ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
We believe that the Bible is God’s written Word, uniquely inspired by the Holy Spirit. It bears unerring witness to Jesus Christ, the living Word, and is useful for teaching, correcting, rebuking and training in righteousness.
We believe God’s saving love reaches toward everyone.
We believe Christ died for all; the atonement is adequate for the whole race generally and every person individually; there is no other name by which one can be saved.
We believe all humanity is corrupted by sin, but God extends grace to everyone, which enables humanity to answer God’s call and turn to Christ for forgiveness. This is prevenient grace – the grace that goes before.
We believe that because God is not arbitrary and does not coerce, individuals may, if they choose, resist the grace of God.
We believe that individuals do not surrender their free will after they are saved; therefore, individuals are free to renounce their faith and be lost.
